Ghostheads: A Ghostbusters Documentary

I heard about Ghostheads in the last year. At the time I dismissed it. Hear me out. It was and is a great idea for a documentary. With the film exploring ghostheads, franchises, and Ghostbusters culture impact from around the world unless their was expendable income, to quote Ghostbusters, “Where we gonna get the money?”

Writer and Director Brendan Mertens (also a ghosthead himself) had a plan. Use a fund raising site where ghostheads could “actually make this happen.” Ok, so I paraphrased slightly.Read More »

Rich Review: Ghostbusters Vinyl Sugar Idolz

gbvinylidolzbox

Around this years San Diego Comic Con when Funko/Vinyl Sugar‘s Ghostbusters Vinyl Idolz were out there in the wild I was checking the usual on-line retail sites so I could buy them. Still to my knowledge no ghosthead who isn’t an employee of Funko knows why their isn’t a Vinyl Idolz Winston. I sorta preferred the SDCC exclusive versions. (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, July 11, 2015) A reasonable price alluded me within the US. Last year I bought something similar with Funko’s SDCC Marshmallow Covered Movie Pops!. (iRich Blog Post, December 28, 2014)

With some of the exclusivity out of reach I ended up buying Vinyl Idolz Peter Venkman first from Barnes & Noble‘s website. Vinyl Idolz Ray Stantz and Vinyl Idolz Egon Spengler came from an eBay seller in NJ. I was able to save some more that way.Read More »

Ghostbusters: The Ultimate Visual History Received

I had been keeping this under (shrink) wraps in part until I knew I could talk more about Ghostbusters: The Ultimate Visual History. (Ghostbusters Inc. Blog Post, January 5, 2015)

During the summer I was contacted by PR By The Book, a public relations firm who represents Insight Editions. The discussion via email was about having a review copy and promoting the book. Which I’ve been doing at least since January. Unless I misunderstood I thought an abbreviated copy would be arriving. One day in August I’m heading out and there was a package.

had to leave, I was excited to get back to open the box. Inside was a copy of Ghostbusters: The Ultimate Visual History by Daniel Wallace. I did what most fans would do, look through the entire book. Then I did what most of us feel we wouldn’t need to do, take 40 photos.Read More »

Zoobe Adds Mr. Stay-Puft

zoobestaypuftarrives

Zoobe who introduced many a ghostheads to their character based voice messaging app with Slimer (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, August 19, 2015) has added everyone’s really favorite Ghostbusters ghost (Sorry Robin. :p) to Zoobe today.

The scene is practically straight out of Ghostbusters when Mr. Stay-Puft strolls down the avenue. Except he’s almost immediately hit with multiple confinement streams. Somehow he still makes time to provide a message of your choosing! 😀

Zoobe is available for both iOs and Android.

In one of my multiple attempts at using a free marshmallow man character to my advantage I made him a spokes marshmallow once again!

Should or when the Zoobe link expires I’ve also shared (should it remain) this video to Ecto-Containment’s Twitter and Facebook accounts.

Lego Ghostbusters Firehouse Speculation

mpjdekkerlegoideasfirehouse

Take this with the grains of color plastic, LEGO news site, The Brick Fan posted details about the upcoming Lego Ghostbusters Firehouse. Something I’ve talked about (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, February 4, 2015) on Ecto-Containment and Ghostbusters Inc. (GB Inc. Search Results)

The source for the set number and details would be credible, (Toys’ R Us Canada) however their isn’t a direct link to any press release or product page from TRU Canada. Also this firehouse would be based on Brent Waller’s design.

If true (I look forward to an official announcement from LEGO) here’s what we could be getting as early as January 2016.Read More »

NYCC 2015: Diamond Select Ghostbusters Toys Progress

nycc15dstgbsegon

Diamond Select Toys who have been showing their Ghostbusters Select figures this year (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, July 11, 2015) were at New York Toy Fair to once again display their Ghostbusters Selects. Which also gave ghostheads a look at the company’s progress.

This was the first time (that I’m aware of) we’ve seen a DST Ghostbusters Select Egon. We also get to see a more detailed exhausted Ghostbusters Select Ray Stantz. Which should be a variant. Is it just me, or does it seem like DST Ghostbusters Select Egon and DST Ghostbusters Select Janine are holding hands?Read More »

NYCC 2015: Cryptozoic Micro Figures

cryptoblindfiguresprotonytf

At this year’s New York Toy Fair Cryptozoic gave us an idea (Ghostbusters Inc. Blog Post, February 17, 2015) about their upcoming Ghostbusters micro figures. Ghostheads didn’t know much and would have to wait until NYCC for more. I sorta forgot about this to be honest. Cryptozoic didn’t and gave us a look at some prototypes, if they’re approved.Read More »

NYCC 2015: Ghostbusters Kicks

nyccgbsnookiee

Josh Pell, designer and founder of Nookiee unveiled at this years’s NYCC Ghostbusters footwear. These high end kicks (yeah I’m cool) besides being stylish (depending on your age and tastes) emulate our favorite Ghostbusters (which is all of them naturally) along with additional designs featuring the “no ghost” logo and Gozer.

My friend Tom Gebhardt (center pic above) provided more info.

They are color matched off Spengler’s GB2 uniform archived by Sony making them even more unique with same herring bone style stitching. Incorporated name patches, elbow pads, eyelets from utility belt, brass lace ending, same as zippers of uniform and that’s not all. They also have limited edition to have your name stitched on as well.

Thanks buddy, let’s take a closer look!

Slimerz Bubble Gum

slimerzgumballs

During the 1980s in America we had The Real Ghostbusters Ecto-Plazm Bubble Gum. (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, December 12, 2013) Their was also that bubble game flavored toothpaste (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, December 13, 2013) for when kids thought it was awesome to brush their teeth with a bubble game flavor. Sadly the time would come when Ghostbusters gum would be a thing from a bygone era. The sands of time would slowly make what’s old a new again.

Thirty years later the United Kingdom of Ghostbusters candy makers bring ghostheads and people who can appreciate fine gum balls, Slimerz. Yes, with a z. Why a z? Have they been to JerZey lately? Are they being extreme?

Slimerz are gum balls that for another reason have “no ghost” logos on the outside, but are filled with a green (“slime”) liquid center. Since I’m pretty far from London right now, I can’t personally tell you more about Slimerz.

A UK Halloween site which reviews such products can. Check out Halloween Love, then go to a store to get Ghostbusters candy to send to me. 😀 I’m serious. Maybe.
