Years after The Real Ghostbusters had ended, a new Ghostbusters cartoon was created. One that would basically connect to what came before. Originally thought to be called Super Ghostbusters as the concepts evolved, what was once super became Extreme.
Extreme Ghostbusters premiered in September 1997 with the first episode Darkness at Noon Pt I. Extreme Ghostbusters had a total of 40 episodes during its first and only season. Nearing the end, Back in the Saddle Parts I and II reunited the other The Real Ghostbusters with Egon. The Real Ghostbusters worked along side The Extreme Ghostbusters to face a supernatural crisis. Sounds familiar.
