At last month’s Toy Fair New York aka NYTF, one of the collectible items Cryptozoic Entertainment had on display (GBI Blog Post, February 14, 2016) is the upcoming GHOSTBUSTERS Fan Club Collector Kit.

As I was too young for the official fan club (GBI Blog Post, June 8, 2014) and somehow missed out on Ghostbusters cereal’s “Be a Ghostbuster” cereal premium (GBI Blog Post, October 20, 2014) thirty two years later finally, I get to officially be part of a Ghostbusters fan club! 😀

Nerd Block, one of a kajillion box subscription services from time-to-time has Ghostbusters related items included with whatever that particular month’s theme is.

Eventually some, if not all items are no longer exclusive. With the t-shirt don’t hold me to that. I’m not subscribed to any box collectibles. Which is why I’m writing about these roughly 8 months later.

During the first week of March 2016 I saw through one of their internet ads Shirt Punch, (one of those deal sites where items are no longer for sale 24 hrs later) were offering Ghostbusters t-shirts and the former Nerd Block items. Sony Pictures Entertainment premiered Ghostbusters (2016) trailer, (GBI Blog Post, March 3, 2016) followed by the first official international trailer. (GBI Blog Post, March 10, 2016) Since then additional international trailers have been released. You may remember in October I wrote a few posts about Ghostbusters confectionaries. (Ecto-Containment Tag) That is if you live in either the UK or a country where they can be shipped to. Since I imagine the cost of shipping candy which will either melt or expire could be very costly for an international company, in North America we either wrote about them or dealt with our emotions. A Ghostbusters Animated Movie In Development

Their had been talk with the addition of Ghostbusters (2016) (Ghostbusters International Blog Post, October 8, 2014) an animated movie could also be a part of Ghostbusters future. While not officially announced yet from Sony Pictures Animation, The Hollywood Reporter  well reported this week an animated movie has been in development and a director has been hired.

Fletcher Moules, whose been behind the Clash of Clans commercials has been hired to direct. Ivan Reitman who brought Ghostbusters down to earth, directed both films, and is a producer on Ghostbusters (2016) will be one of the producers.

Ghostheads don’t know yet what Ghostbusters (80s, Real, Extreme, (probably not) 2016, etc will be in a new animated movie, what the story will be, and really any animated details. Personally I’d like to see an animated movie with the Ghostbusters that began the franchise in 1984. I’m not saying it has to take place from 1984. Either way I’ll keep an open mind and see what Ghost Corps has in mind. What would you like to see?

Paul Feig Confirms Ecto Cooler’s Return

The momentum for Ecto Cooler continues to build as some people are receiving a product sample Hi-C Ecto Cooler 2016, (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, February 19, 2016) and samples have been tasted.

When Ghostbusters (2016) director Paul Feig was asked by Alex Lobo via Twitter about Ecto Cooler’s 2016 release, we all received the following response:

I don’t know when sooner in relation to Ghostbusters (2016) release in July. I do feel at the end of February its too soon for Coke/Hi-C to release anything related to marketing. Maybe after March 3, 2016 at the earliest once Ghostbusters (2016) first trailer (Ghostbusters International Blog Post, February 14, 2016) is released.

Potential Ecto Cooler Product Sample Update

Yesterday I woke up to new Ecto Cooler news. (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, February 18, 2016) Last night as I was exiting the internet for the night their was some clarification and an update about the seeming evolution of Hi-C Ecto-Cooler.

The mystery can from the eBay seller naturally received attention about the auction. As I was preparing this post I saw it (the auction, not my site 😉 was trending on Facebook. Since it could be about me 😀 I saw my post among the feed. That’s cool.

Nearing bedtime the seller’s auction was back up with added information. Apparently the can belonged to a friend who use to work in a marketing company. However, not in a long time. From an outside point of view I could see why some related company might still send that person a product sample for upcoming marketing. My issue with the seller is if s/he had explained that from the beginning, sites likes mine could have talked more positively, etc about new Ecto-Cooler then speculating about how real this is.Read More »
