IDW Publishing Ghostbusters International Comics

agbintcomicoverIDW Publishing Ghostbusters comic news out of the recent New York Comic Con.

It was announced (um probably at NYCC) that IDW will publish international adventures of the comic Ghostbusters.

The title will appropriately be named Ghostbusters International.

As a guy who once owned and paid way too much for the domain name I wish this part of the comic series had been around over the last decade.

The basic premise of Ghostbusters International comics is that the established Ghostbusters will be dealing with international  ghosts at there respective international locations.

Perhaps as early as Issue #1 we’ll also see new Ghostbusters to probably handle business in America.

Comic Book Resources interviewed Erik about Ghostbusters International.

I’m an eyewitness, anybody want to interview me? 😀

Ghostbusters International Issue #1 will be available in January 2016.

Ghostbusters Dorbz Chase Variants

If you’ve ever read or collected a toy line you know its a foregone conclusion that the company behind that line is going to make a variant of said figures. Matty what’s their name were practically known for doing this with Ghostbusters. In a different way, Funko and their brands have done something similar (though to their credit better) with both their Pops! and Vinyl Idolz.

I wasn’t surprised when I unexpectedly found out Vinyl Sugar will be releasing at least two (that they’ve shared) variant (or chase, (ya know thrill of the hunt) Ghostbusters Dorbz.Read More »

Funko & Vinyl Idolz Ghostbusters Dorbz

funkogbsdorbz

Because ghostheads needed more Ghostbusters vinyl figures 😀 Funko and Vinyl Sugar created these small, internationally inspired? Ghostbusters Dorbz! Unlike the choice to make only Peter, Ray, and Egon Vinyl Idolz finally Winston gets his second vinyl figure. Let’s take a more individual detailed look.Read More »

Ghostbusters Jelly Pops (Yet Again, If You’re In The UK)

gbsjellypopsuk

To add sugar to the American blood stream Kingsways (presumably) is producing Ghostbusters Jelly Pops. What the heck is a jelly pop? :p The language isn’t a barrier. These lolly pops (man, that doesn’t sound very American) come in three choices, a “no ghost” logo, (ooh) Slimer, and something that could hurt you if you don’t have self control, Mr. Stay-Puft.

I love how they have an almost home made feel to them. They’re big enough you want (and probably do) play with them before finally and maybe a bit sadly eating them into oblivion.

Each Jelly Pop costs around 95p.

Hot Wheels The Real Ghostbusters Ecto-1

hotwheelsrgbsecto1

Previously Mattel’s die cast brand Hot Wheels has produced and sold (GB Inc. Blog Post, December 12, 2014) ECTO-1s in various sizes. Less then a year later on the cusp of The Real Ghostbusters 30th anniversary Mattel finally made an Ecto-1, “as seen in the hit series The Real Ghostbusters.”

If you want your RGBs Hot Wheels to have more of a “on duty” feel, their’s also a glow in the dark version. Which was a Mexican comic con exclusive. They’re marked up on a popular auction site upwards of $80 USD. The regular version, hopefully to be found at retailers on and off-line should cost considerably less. And what about that sweet card?Read More »

Stay-Puft Marshmallow Foods (Again, If You’re In The UK)

ministaypuftmarshuk

During the Summer some ghostheads were posting that they could buy Stay-Puft marshmallows (I believe they come in a regular size also) at stores. The design (not currently pictured on Ecto-Containment) had Mr. Stay-Puft (probably like above) in front of a American flag. As it should be. :p

The problem is, (at least for those of us on the “other side of the pond”) these American marshmallows are in the United Kingdom. Previously two different food and beverage companies in the US produced (Ecto-Containment Blog, May 7, 2012) Stay-Puft marshmallows. First in cube shaped caffeinated form and then regular mini marshmallows.

If’s too late in the day to snack on fluffy white and pink marshmallows, this next spread may be more to your liking.Read More »

Ghostbusters Candy (If You’re In The UK)

gbspopcandy

Retail barcode, a United Kingdom based retail blog has let ghostheads know (we knew this candy existed before then) that Kingsway, based out of of Loughborough UK makes Ghostbusters popping candy. I’m guessing these are similar to ‘Wonka’ Nerds candy. They come in two flavors, apple and strawberry. If nerd candy (the popping) kind isn’t to your liking Kingsway also makes Ghostbusters chocolate. Yes Please! 😀 Read More »

New Ecto-Containment Layout

rgbcautionbar

A short post (let’s put it this way, not as long as others) to confirm what you’re already seeing. That not even 5 full months later I’ve once again clicked some buttons and changed Ecto-Containment’s design and layout. As you scroll down you’ll see a curved shape. Its suppose to resemble some fancy piano. To me, its more of an upside down P.K.E Meter. 😀

Unlike back in May (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, May 11, 2015) their shouldn’t be any major changes. Except for maybe one, their is an RSS feed icon the template has by default. I don’t have separate RSS software, it doesn’t work for me. If you have an RSS app, it should work. Feel free to comment to confirm.

Otherwise it’ll be somewhat business as unusual as Ecto-Containment moves into October. This would include Ghostbusters news and site content.

2016 Ghostbusters Calendar

gbscal2916cov

Not to be confused with the upcoming “Ghostbusters 2016” film next year, Universe Publishing (Facebook) brings ghostheads a brand new Ghostbusters calendar! Most of us didn’t even know.

Previously, Antioch Publishing produced and sold Ghostbusters calendars (Spook Central Blog Post) in 1986 (not 100% sure why it wasn’t in 1985) and Ghostbusters II calendars in 1990.

Similar (with an updated layout and high res images) to the 1986 calendar, the official Ghostbusters calendar for 2016 features scenes from Ghostbusters.
