Extreme Episode Review: Back In The Saddle Part 2

backinthesadpt2abovelibertyisland2

This past Friday I wrote my review (Ecto-Containment Blog Post: February 17, 2017) for the  Extreme Ghostbusters episode, Back In The Saddle Pt. 1.

I actually began reviewing Back In The Saddle Pt. 2 on the same day. Without the ability to jump into earlier time zones, I would have to get back to it. Today I spent a lot of it reviewing and preparing the screen caps for Ecto-Containment. After what feels like an entire weekends worth of reviewing both Back In The Saddle episodes, I feel accomplished.

Thank you to ghostheads who take way less time than it took me to write and prepare the reviews for reading and hopefully enjoying what I’ve done.

Unofficial Synopsis:

The Real Ghostbusters and Extreme Ghostbusters continue working together to defeat something that’s referred to as the entity when they’re Back In The Saddle, Part 2!

IDW Publishing & Funko Publishing Funko Universe Comics

funko

IDW Publishing and Funko took what was probably an awesome meeting where the outcome will see Funko Pop Movie/TV characters in one off comics. Naturally you couldn’t have a Funko comics universe without Ghostbusters Pop Movies figures. (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, August 16, 2014)

Before they skyrocketed straight into the cultural zeitgeist, Funko’s Pop! vinyl figures started out for sale in comic shops. This May, they’re going back to the beginning by teaming with comic publisher IDW for a month of special one-shot comics featuring Funko versions of IDW’s iconic pop culture properties like Ghostbusters and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Funko Universe Month at IDW will primarily consist of five one-shot comics: Ghostbusters, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The X-Files, Strawberry Shortcake, and Judge Dredd. But there will also be Funko variant covers available for that month’s issues of regular IDW titles like Back to the Future, Orphan Black: Deviations, Dirk Gently: The Salmon of Doubt, The Powerpuff Girls, Star Trek, and more.

Extreme Episode Review: Back In The Saddle Part 1

backinthesadrealegbstogether

Recently I was beginning to get around to a site update for Ghostbusters International. In my mind it made sense to do “this” before “that.” The first of a few Ghostbusters reviews for the sites is an Extreme Ghostbusters review.

As a ghosthead since 1984 and growing up with The Real Ghostbusters arguably the best episodes of Extreme Ghostbusters were when the original/Real Ghostbusters got together for a party. Along with somewhat unexpected, suppose to be brief ‘bustin action.

Since ghosts don’t care about passing the torch The Real Ghostbusters team up with the Extreme Ghostbusters in the two parter Back In The Saddle.

I’ve only reviewed Back In The Saddle Pt. 1. I’ll be working on Pt. 2 (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, February 19, 2017) next.

New And Mysterious Ghostbusters Film Uncovered

ghostcorpsfoundgbscenes

No need to check, you’re reading Ecto-Containment and not Unearthly News. In what was an “out of no-where,” pleasant surprise for ghostheads Ghost Corps (Facebook) shared a photo from there vault revealing deleted scenes/unused footage, and something titled “Bill Murray.” You know you want to see what’s on that film.

It’s time for another #TBT vault find! These reels came from a box in Ivan’s personal storage and we’re pretty excited to have uncovered some unreleased scenes! #Ghostbusters

Playmobil Ghostbusters Will Be Ready To Believe You

playmobilgbsblogpostcap.png

Playmobil (US) has been preparing (GBI Blog Post, January 9, 2017) to release their line of Ghostbusters play sets. Something that could have only been imaginable 30 years ago. If you were an older kid like myself, you didn’t imagine the two would go together. They would have then as they will today.

Playmobil revealed their upcoming Ghostbusters play sets to ghostheads. Except for what I perceive as modern packaging design, these sets feel like they could easily be re-releases from 1987.

Cryptozoic Ghostbusters Mighty Meeples

Where was this stuff in 1987?

In an update from last years New York Toy Fair (GBI Blog Post, February 14, 2016) Cryptozoic Entertainment has produced and is selling (I should check) Ghostbusters Mighty Meeples.

I don’t really know what that means. I’ll let Anthony Karcz from GeekDad tell us about it.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game Now One Better

gbthevideogameecto1gbs.jpg

Last year Ghostbusters Sanctum of Slime (Ecto-Containment Post, April 28, 2016) became backwards compatible believe it or not before Ghostbusters: The Video Game. In what Ghostbusters universe were we all living in?

That’s right, we were living in the past. In 2017 when ghostheads have prevented interdimensional breaches from reopening, we return to a memorable time when we can once again play Ghostbusters: The Video Game. This time not just on a once expensive aging console.

If you own an xBox One, Ghostbusters: The Video Game is backwards compatible. You should be able to find it in the Marketplace if you don’t have a copy of the physical game.
