Janine Melnitz Uses QuickBooks

anniejaninequickbooks.png

About 2 weeks ago videos and memes of Annie Potts, who plays the iconic role of Janine Melnitz, the Ghostbusters cranky receptionist hit the interwebs. Except for here as I’m retro blogging. That’s a real thing right?

This isn’t reused and some computer generated footage of Ms. Potts as Janine from GHOSTBUSTERS. Or Annie Potts kinda looking like Janine selling us DirecTV in the 2000s. She is better than that, Ghostbusters is above that kind of cheese. So is Intuit.

Intuit is the leading software company behind Turbo Tax, Mint, and QuickBooks. In a series of ads to manage a better, happier business Intuit has partnered with Sony/Columbia to use characters from 2 of their biggest iconic movies from the 1980s. Karate Kid and Ghostbusters. The idea is that characters who run businesses are happier and more productive than they were 36 years ago because they use QuickBooks to manage their respective business.

Empire Ghostbusters Magazine PDFs

empirejune16cov

So 5 days ago I scanned my physical copy of Empire UK from June 2016. As in my search beforehand I didn’t come across a free digital version. My scans were the covers, inside content, and thankfully just the Ghostbusters articles. After converting the files into pretty high-res and very large PDFs they were added (Ghostbusters Firehouse Blog Post, April 15, 2017) to Ghostbusters Firehouse.

Unbeknownst to me and I’m guessing most ghostheads the real, full PDF from Empire UK, June 2016 had been added to some archive of internet. I only found that out after Paul R. from Spook Central sent me an email.

Ghostheads usually can improve on what’s already been done.

Ghostbusters Letterhead With Envelope

agbsnoghostlogowall321

It isn’t that often I see a Ghostbusters paper prop I don’t think I’ve come across. That wasn’t the case when Replica Prop Forum member Brigandia36 posted Ghostbusters stationary/letterhead with an envelope. These paper props came from iCollector, an auction site. The original auction didn’t sell, which is partially why I’m sharing the images.

The lot also includes a sheet of stationery and an envelope that both bear the Ghost Busters company letterhead, complete with address and phone number for reporting supernatural disturbances.

Its possible these were made for Ghostbusters, possibly set dressing during production. Either really weren’t seen or not used as a prop at all.

A comment at RPF said they weren’t real if they didn’t have slime on them. So now they have slime. Then I made a variant as I could see “Dr. Venkman” placing his coffee atop of one of the older letterheads.

Kenner The Real Ghostbusters Original Instructions

firehouseInstructions.jpg

Lee Hall aka hallpaleo recently scanned (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, March 21, 2016) his Ghostbusters Firehouse/Station decal sheet. To follow was an original Kenner The Real Ghostbusters Firehouse instructions.

This morning Lee Hall provided scans of his instructions. For me it was like discovering an ancient scroll lost to time. I’ve cleaned the 6 page instructions up, converted them to a PDF file, and upload them to Ecto-Containment.

We’re now one step closer to completing Kenner’s The Real Ghostbusters instructions.

Kenner The Real Ghostbusters Firehouse Decals

firehousedecalsheet.jpg

On Ghostbusters 29th anniversary I added a not so coincidental update to Ecto-Containment. The instructions (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, June 8, 2013) for Kenner‘s Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ/Station.

At the time I couldn’t share its decal sheet as the previous owner had applied them about a year earlier. Then over the weekend because a ghosthead needed a copy of Kenner’s Ghost Nabber instructions, (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, May 28, 2013) a conversation began which leads to today.

Lee Hall aka hallpaleo scanned his Ghostbusters Firehouse/Station decal sheet, cleaned it up, and provided it for ghostheads. All I’ve basically done is made his scan a PDF file and added it to Ecto-Containment.

The high res file is somewhat on the large side, smaller then the files I downloaded.

Thanks so much again Lee Hall!

Lego Ghostbusters FireHouse January Catalog

legosgbfirehousejancat

Just in time for New Years 2016 LEGO sent customers a January 2016 catalog. As expected their Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, November 11, 2015) was prominently featured. It reminded me of The Real Ghostbusters Magazines posters.

Until or if ghostheads get any more Ghostbusters Legos I scanned the cover and four additional pages for preservation. I made a PDF file from those scans.

Lego’s Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ (75827) can be bought either from LEGO Shop (US) or Lego retail stores.

LEGO Teases, Sorta Announces Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ

legoshopgbfirehousehq

Figures, selfishly on a day where I was tired and had a sinus headache LEGO posted on their Facebook page what I’m calling a tease about their upcoming Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ. (Set 75827) Previously I posted what I considered speculation, (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, October 19, 2015) was mostly likely an error on the part of Toys R’ Us Canada.

Lego Ghostbusters Firehouse Speculation

mpjdekkerlegoideasfirehouse

Take this with the grains of color plastic, LEGO news site, The Brick Fan posted details about the upcoming Lego Ghostbusters Firehouse. Something I’ve talked about (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, February 4, 2015) on Ecto-Containment and Ghostbusters Inc. (GB Inc. Search Results)

The source for the set number and details would be credible, (Toys’ R Us Canada) however their isn’t a direct link to any press release or product page from TRU Canada. Also this firehouse would be based on Brent Waller’s design.

If true (I look forward to an official announcement from LEGO) here’s what we could be getting as early as January 2016.Read More »
