Hardee’s Ghostbusters II Commercial

hardeesgb2comcounter.jpg

Three years ago, almost to the day I wrote about my Hardee’s Ghostbusters II Banner. (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, March 23, 2014) In my post I had shared a copy of Hardee’s Ghostbusters II commercial to my very basic YouTube channel. I eventually wanted to talk more about this Ghostbusters II fast food cross promotion.

Why now? Last weekend I sold a friend of mine the only Hardee’s Ghostbusters II Banner for sale that I knew of. I hadn’t been displaying this official piece of Ghostbusters II history. He probably will, maybe even at franchise events. That could be great for the “Official Ghostbusters II Headquarters” banner to have such a Ghostbusters purpose again.

I’m not sure why Hardee’s was chosen over other national United States fast food chains. I find it hard to believe there were more Hardee’s locations in the USA over McDonalds or Burger King. Perhaps it was financial or Hardee’s was closer to Columbia Pictures.

On a slight side note, McDonalds in Canada had at least Ghostbusters II tray liners/place mats.

As previously stated I was deprived of going to a fast food chain that celebrated Ghostbusters II. Other than what was my banner I can live vicarlously though Hardee’s blockbuster commercial.

Ghostbusters NJ/Ecto-Containment Event

ecutitlesept16

Tomorrow, March 19, 2017 members of Ghostbusters NJ and myself will be at the Jersey Shore Comic Book Show. This smaller show runs from 10AM-4 PM. JSCBs is in a regional shore area. One could even visit one of the area boardwalks afterwards. With games, oversized food, and beaches along the Atlantic ocean.

GBNJ will have our mobile HQ (tables) with hopefully enough equipment and ectoplasm. Along with free Now Comics Slimer!

New for our mobile HQ for the very first time, (that I’m aware of) I’m selling part of my Ghostbusters collection. Items range from Matty Collector Ghostbusters figures, (not the 2016 releases) The Real Ghostbusters roleplaying toys, and some Kenner figures.

The  Jersey Shore Comic Book Show is at the Toms River, NJ Elks Lodge. 600 Washington Ave.

Hope to see you there!

Ghostbusters: Answer The Call Review

gbsatcendtitlelogo.jpg

This past weekend I began reviewing the theatrical version of  Ghostbusters: Answer The Call. I realized without much planning for this one review, I couldn’t review a nearly 2 hour movie in a day, not even two. I’ve been watching Ghostbusters: Answer The Call on and off when I could for about the last five days. That seems a little much.

In the last two days as I had been reviewing Ghostbusters: ATC I was putting it on Ecto-Containment along with accompanying screen caps. Which thankfully for a multi-hour movie I didn’t have to create myself, as I normally would with animated episodes.

I reviewed Ghostbusters: Answer The Call in 4 pages. My original notes without pictures was at least page 17 halfway through. This review is similar to how I review The Real Ghostbusters episodes. I added or changed categories to fit Ghostbusters: Answer The Call.

At a later date I might talk about, not necessarily review the extended version. And in another update talk about the Blu-ray features.

Ghostbusters: Answer The Call

In recent weeks I’ve written about Ghostbusters being back in their saddles, (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, February 17, 2017) and The Ghost Busters. (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, February 26, 2017) Those blog posts and episode reviews were leading to this site update.

With pages to the major parts of the Ghostbusters franchise, one hadn’t been created. That was in part because I hadn’t written much about Ghostbusters (2016)/Ghostbusters: Answer The Call at Ecto-Containment. It seemed better to me to post Ghostbusters (2016) news at Ghostbusters International as it was more business related.

Ghost Busters Review: Mummy Dearest

epi7mummydearest

Location: Oil Fields (Day)

epi7mummydearest1

It Just Popped In There: Are those pyramids in the background? Even if an oil rich country is in a sorta desert climate, would the government really allow multiple mechanic oil drills? Hopefully some antiques counsel was able to preserve history beforehand.

It Just Popped In There: Where did that mummy looking ghost and Thundercats like villain materialize from?

Quotes:

  • “Oil fields, source of most of the world’s power.” Prime Evil
  • [scratching head] “What kind of power?” – Airhead
  • “Oil you mummified moron. [static sound] Gasoline, fuel. Without it the earth would be helpless. No cars, no trucks, no trains would move. Imagine, the roads of the earth would be filled with automobiles. None of them would be moving!” – Prime Evil

It Just Popped In There: Was Prime Evil ever around humans before refined oil? The first car had only been invented about a century earlier. During the 19th century trains (and industry) used coal as a fuel source. Did he ever hear of electricity?

WAY LONG before any of that humans had other means of transportation. i.e horse power or well just walked. More like Secondary Evil.

The Ghost Busters

animatedthegbstitlecard

Yes, you’re on the right sight, Ecto-Containment, a Ghostbusters site for ghostheads. Fans of what was Dan Ackroyd’s original vision of a supernatural comedy, then “grounded in reality” with the help of Harold Ramis, Ivan Reitman, and all those involved.

Eleven years before GHOSTBUSTERS was at your favorite theater The Ghost Busters was on your TV screen. I wouldn’t have known that as I was born when President Carter was nearing the end of his Presidency.

The Ghost Busters was a live action sitcom starring Forrest Tucker and Larry Storch. Bob Burns played Tracy, an intelligent Gorilla. I think I can honestly say I’ve never seen a complete episode of The Ghost Busters. Basically knowing that two guys and a Gorilla had been on TV and were kinda like Ghostbusters. Any preconceptions came long after I had seen GHOSTBUSTERS in theaters and was watching The Real Ghostbusters every week.

I grew up with the Ghostbusters franchise and chose it as “the” Ghostbusters over any competition it might have had. Including the animated GHOSTBUSTERS.
