Lee’s Toy Review Issue 184

EPSON MFP image

As part of Lee’s Toy Review Issue #184 from February 2008, Lee’s had a guide to collecting The Ghost Busters (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, February 26, 2017) and Ghostbusters toys that included up to that time Ghostbusters 20th anniversary.

I may have a vague recollection of seeing this at Borders, as I wasn’t really collecting at the time and didn’t read Lee’s Toy Review, I didn’t buy a copy. Since then I had mostly forgotten about it.

Recently David Boozer, who runs The Ghostbusters Vault scanned his copy for ghostheads. I’ve lightly cleaned the scans and made a PDF copy. The just Ghostbusters content with covers is 11 pages and comes in at 152 MB.

What’s somewhat interesting to me is that Lee’s didn’t have or couldn’t find some photos for Kenner‘s The Real Ghostbusters toys in 2008. It’s possible even with search engines they didn’t necessarily have permission to publish said photos. Or product photos weren’t on-line.

Lee’s Toy Review (Ghostbusters Firehouse PDF) has been added to Ghostbusters Firehouse The Magazine Rack.

Ghostbusters Gift Bags

gbsgiftbag.jpg

At least six months ago as Halloween was approaching I was busy at times getting ready to go on vacation, between future day and a couple days before Halloween. I knew I wanted to write about (then) Halloween Ghostbusters gift bags. In somewhat of a backlog clean up I’ve thought Ghostbusters gifts bags don’t just have to be for Halloween parties and trick-or-treaters.

From the creative and professional Artsy-Fartsy Mama comes the Ghostbusters® Halloween BOO bag.

Empire Ghostbusters Magazine PDFs

empirejune16cov

So 5 days ago I scanned my physical copy of Empire UK from June 2016. As in my search beforehand I didn’t come across a free digital version. My scans were the covers, inside content, and thankfully just the Ghostbusters articles. After converting the files into pretty high-res and very large PDFs they were added (Ghostbusters Firehouse Blog Post, April 15, 2017) to Ghostbusters Firehouse.

Unbeknownst to me and I’m guessing most ghostheads the real, full PDF from Empire UK, June 2016 had been added to some archive of internet. I only found that out after Paul R. from Spook Central sent me an email.

Ghostheads usually can improve on what’s already been done.

Mad, Cracked, And People Weekly Added To Ghostbusters Firehouse

madgrossbusters2cov

Recently after writing about UK fast food franchise Wimpy and their Ghostbusters II kids meal commercial (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, March 31, 2017) I was wondering if ghostheads had a digital copy of UK magazine Empire from June 2016. That also had me thinking about MAD Movie Classics (Ghostbusters Firehouse Blog Post, February 7, 2015) special. I asked at Ecto-Containment’s Facebook page if someone had a digital copy of either publication. While their hasn’t been an exact match yet, ghosthead Alex Newborn shared scans from one of his Facebook albums.

Within the one album were scans of Ghostbusters articles from People WeeklyCracked, and MAD magazines. With Alex Newborn’s permission I’ve saved the files, cleaned them up some where necessary and made PDF files of just the Ghostbusters periodicals.

Six new magazines have been added to the Magazine Rack. (Ghostbusters Firehouse) Where I’ve organized magazines, comics, a coloring book, and more by month and year. Some exceptions apply with Ghostbusters: The Video Game. (Ghostbusters Firehouse)

Kenner The Real Ghostbusters Original Instructions

firehouseInstructions.jpg

Lee Hall aka hallpaleo recently scanned (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, March 21, 2016) his Ghostbusters Firehouse/Station decal sheet. To follow was an original Kenner The Real Ghostbusters Firehouse instructions.

This morning Lee Hall provided scans of his instructions. For me it was like discovering an ancient scroll lost to time. I’ve cleaned the 6 page instructions up, converted them to a PDF file, and upload them to Ecto-Containment.

We’re now one step closer to completing Kenner’s The Real Ghostbusters instructions.

Kenner The Real Ghostbusters Firehouse Decals

firehousedecalsheet.jpg

On Ghostbusters 29th anniversary I added a not so coincidental update to Ecto-Containment. The instructions (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, June 8, 2013) for Kenner‘s Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ/Station.

At the time I couldn’t share its decal sheet as the previous owner had applied them about a year earlier. Then over the weekend because a ghosthead needed a copy of Kenner’s Ghost Nabber instructions, (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, May 28, 2013) a conversation began which leads to today.

Lee Hall aka hallpaleo scanned his Ghostbusters Firehouse/Station decal sheet, cleaned it up, and provided it for ghostheads. All I’ve basically done is made his scan a PDF file and added it to Ecto-Containment.

The high res file is somewhat on the large side, smaller then the files I downloaded.

Thanks so much again Lee Hall!

Ghostbusters 3 Hellbent Script Pages

gbs3hellbentblogtitle

If you’ve been a ghosthead and on the internet a good portion of your life you’ve probably followed closely developments for what could have been “Ghostbusters 3.” Dan Ackroyd had an idea he’s talked about through the years where a doorway into our world opens, basically turning NYC into some ghost hell. These ideas would be incorporated into Ghostbusters: The Video Game from 2009.

A decade earlier in 1999 Dan Ackroyd wrote the first draft for Hellbent. I’m not sure when, where, (probably internet communications) or how, like a classified top secret file this script was out there to the fewest of ghostheads. Continue reading

ILM 1989 Ghostbusters II Yearbook

anilmlogobulb

Tim Lawrence, (IMDB) was the Creature Shop Supervisor (must have looked good on the business card) during Ghostbusters II and played Nunzio Scoleri, a ghost who was given the chair by “The Hammer,” a judge who didn’t believe in ghosts.

Earlier this month Tim Lawrence came across a ILM yearbook from 1989. He scanned the cover and the Ghostbusters II pages, telling ghostheads about the photos. Links and information was shared at Ghostbusters Fans.

I decided to make a PDF of the cover and four pages using the original sizes. If you wouldn’t want a 60 MB PDF file you can check Tim Lawrence’s thread for various image sizes.
