During The Real Ghostbusters first full year in 1987 McDonald’s and Columbia Pictures came together with a theme, to sell your parents a cheeseburger (or McNugget) happy meal, and naturally include a The Real Ghostbusters toy. The theme for the multiple Happy Meal boxes had to do with going back to school. Each meal box had fun and educational, (my 9 year old self wouldn’t have quite thought of them in that way) activities… Read More

Last year I wrote about fast food chain Wimpy and their Ghostbusters II commercial. (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, March 31, 2017) In the cross promotion Wimpy had a Ghostbusters II meal box. On July 2, 2017 ghosthead, collector, and friend David Boozer who runs The Ghostbusters Vault left a comment about owning this very Wimpy meal box. Not to anyones surprise that knows me I replied about scans within a day. On my end,… Read More

I haven’t had satellite in more than a year. Even if I did I wouldn’t have been watching a network of cartoons. Paul R. from Spook Central (Facebook) was and saw a TV spot for Playmobil (US) Ghostbusters sets. A bit odd, the US version isn’t on Playmobil (YouTube) channel. Although the UK version is. Paul found the US version at iSpot.

Playmobil (US) has shared a commercial for their Ghostbusters play sets. The commercial is a mix of German and a little English. Sources: Playmobil (US) Ghostbusters Playmobil (US) Playmobil (YouTube) Sony Pictures

This years Las Vegas Licensing Expo is the week of May 23-25. In preparation of movie studios such as Sony Pictures attending, an image surfaced featuring the above new Ghostbusters “no ghost” logo. Which as ghostheads have pointed out gives off a 1980s Kenner vibe. Does that mean Sony and Ghost Corps (Facebook) has some retro toys up their flightsuit sleeves? Subliminally could this be about the upcoming Ghostbusters animated movie and/or animated series?… Read More

At least six months ago as Halloween was approaching I was busy at times getting ready to go on vacation, between future day and a couple days before Halloween. I knew I wanted to write about (then) Halloween Ghostbusters gift bags. In somewhat of a backlog clean up I’ve thought Ghostbusters gifts bags don’t just have to be for Halloween parties and trick-or-treaters. From the creative and professional Artsy-Fartsy Mama comes the Ghostbusters®… Read More

Wimpy, originally Wimpy Grills is an international fast food chain that surprisingly, (to me) was founded in Bloomington, Indiana by Edward Gold during 1934. Why the recent surprise to me? Growing up on the east coast of the United States I had never heard of Wimpy. The oldest fast food chain, (which is also not in all 50 United States) that I knew of is White Castle. Wimpy, (yes named after the Popeye… Read More

Three years ago, almost to the day I wrote about my Hardee’s Ghostbusters II Banner. (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, March 23, 2014) In my post I had shared a copy of Hardee’s Ghostbusters II commercial to my very basic YouTube channel. I eventually wanted to talk more about this Ghostbusters II fast food cross promotion. Why now? Last weekend I sold a friend of mine the only Hardee’s Ghostbusters II Banner for… Read More

This week two new Ghostbusters items to collect and experience are out in the expanded multiverse. Sony’s Playstation 4 VR game, Ghostbusters: Is Hiring, (GBI Blog Post, March 21, 2017) and IDW Publishing Ghostbusters 101. (GBI Blog Post, December 21, 2016) It was a great opportunity for Germain Lussier of io9 to talk to Ivan Reitman about where Ghostbusters has been and where it may be heading.
