For Sale: Both 12 and 6 Inch Ghostbusters Figures

I admit I also have ulterior motive for adding 24 figures I own (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, January 9, 2018) to Ecto-Containment. I’m looking to sell them.

I’m asking $60 USD per Twelve Inch Ghostbusters figure. Or $240 USD for all four. Can sell individually or as a set.

I’m asking $75.00 USD for the 12 inch Egon/Ray Ghostbusters II set.

Twelve Inch Ghostbusters figures come in their original white mailers. Figures packaging haven’t been opened. I also admit I once was going to open Egon. Out of all four figures, I’ve only displayed Egon and Ray. Otherwise figures have been in their original white mailer boxes. Each figure includes all accessories, instructions, and advertising from Matty Collector.

Six Inch Ghostbusters figures come in their original white mailers. With the exception of any figure that didn’t have a white mailer box. Figures packaging haven’t been opened. Each figure includes all accessories from Matty Collector.

I’m looking between $30 USD per figure. Prices may be adjusted.

While I’d prefer to ship within the United States, I could ship internationally as long as buyer or buyers pay shipping and any additional fees. Which will be stated before final sale.

I can be reached at spengs @ ecto-containment dot com. Or you can message me at Facebook. Or please leave a comment below.

Thank you in advance for reading and looking! I’d appreciate any re-blogs, shares on Facebook, re-tweets on Twitter, or through any other social media platforms.

Site Updates: Matty Collector Ghostbusters Figures

mcraywinstonslimerblower6inch

Sticky Note: Ecto-Containment will continue to be at ecto-containment.com throughout 2018.

Last week I began the first of two current site updates. Creating 4 new pages to add 12 inch Matty Collector Ghostbusters to Ecto-Containment. I also organized the Matty Collector Prop Toys menu. I had most of the 12 inch figures on the site before having to prepare for winter storm Grayson.

Yesterday I took photos of the 6 inch Matty Collector Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II figures. Along with a 12 inch Ghostbusters II Egon/Ray “museum” set. It took into the evening to edit, resize, and watermark 60 + photos.

Today I created 23 new pages to mostly add photos of both six inch and twelve inch Matty Collector Ghostbusters photos. I haven’t written about most of these figures. I might eventually or the pages will be more about archiving and digital preservation.

All Matty Collector page links can be accessed by either clicking Matty Collector or hover over that part of Toys to see more navigation to Twelve Inch, and Six Inch figures. Where  each 12 inch or 6 inch Ghostbusters figure page is also listed.

Matty Collector PKE Photos

mattypkecratetop

In December 2010 Matty Collector began getting into producing functioning Ghostbusters “props.” Which I’ve called prop toys in comparison to ghostheads who have the “tools and the talent” to build their own. I’m not one of those ghostheads. I was probably happy to be able to buy the first Ghostbusters tool we see used in Ghostbusters.

December 2010 was technically before Ecto-Containment existed. I wasn’t writing first impressions or Rich Reviews. With Matty Collector prop toys I wouldn’t for at least a couple more years. By then I didn’t see a need to review this P.K.E Meter. I did want to share photos on Ecto-Containment.

In July 2017 as I was moving and selling parts of my collection, I took a dozen photos. Nearly seven years later to its release I’m getting around to sharing photos.

Some Matty Collector Ghostbusters Sculpting

handsculptmattel gbsdanabarrett

With Mattel Ghostbusters/2016 toys (slowly, depending on location) reaching retailers this month and Diamond Select Toys Ghostbusters Selects also at retailers it gave me an opportunity to finally post something I never got to in January for some reason.

Eleventyplex, a traditional sculpting company once worked with Matty Collector on their Ghostbusters figures. These sculpts included Dana Barrett, Librarian, Taxi Ghost, and Cinema Ghost. The ghost figures were accessories to Matty Collector Ghostbusters figures.

Here are additional photos of their Ghostbusters sculpts. On the side navigation menu you can also view the rest of their portfolio.

Mattel Planning New Ghostbusters Figures And A Proton Pack

amattelogo

Sony Pictures VP of global consumer products, Mark Caplan has provided information about what ghostheads can expect from their business partnership with Mattel in the next year. While we’re probably not getting those The Real Ghostbusters figures (Ghostbusters Inc. Blog Post, July 25, 2014) we’ll see new Ghostbusters figures and have a Proton Pack. Continue reading

Hot Wheels The Real Ghostbusters Ecto-1

hotwheelsrgbsecto1

Previously Mattel’s die cast brand Hot Wheels has produced and sold (GB Inc. Blog Post, December 12, 2014) ECTO-1s in various sizes. Less then a year later on the cusp of The Real Ghostbusters 30th anniversary Mattel finally made an Ecto-1, “as seen in the hit series The Real Ghostbusters.”

If you want your RGBs Hot Wheels to have more of a “on duty” feel, their’s also a glow in the dark version. Which was a Mexican comic con exclusive. They’re marked up on a popular auction site upwards of $80 USD. The regular version, hopefully to be found at retailers on and off-line should cost considerably less. And what about that sweet card? Rich Review: Matty Collector Ghost Trap

 mcghostrapcontents

Intro: On October 17, 2011 Matty Collector brought ghostheads the second officially licensed Ghostbusters™ prop toy, the Ghost Trap. The first was the P.K.E Meter, which originally went on sale in December 2010. During that October Ghostbusters retail wise, Mattel had made a somewhat odd decision to sell expensive new Ghostbusters collectibles at the same time. I always felt they should have been spread out over a quarter. Personally I couldn’t afford what I wanted, which included a brand new sealed in box collectible Ghost Trap.

As the year the Earth was suppose to be destroyed by ancient culture’s beliefs began I was finally ready to buy a Matty Collector Ghost Trap from the source. I couldn’t because they were finally sold out. Not in a Mattel’s poor business practice way either. Fortunately their were some alternatives, I really didn’t want to pay a secondary or third party mark up.

I found a listing on a popular auction site with a buy it now option too. As luck would have it, the seller was in my state. I was able to buy a Matty Collector Ghost Trap for about what it would have originally cost with shipping. “Call it fate, call it karma…”  Continue reading

Matty Collector Ecto Goggles Update

When I gave my first impression about Matty Collector’s Ecto Goggles on August 26, 2013 I figured that’s the last I would have wrote about them. Within a few days, then about a month later things changed with my pair of Matty Ecto Goggles. I thought I commented about this on the site, (might have been during the transition) of course I can’t find it now. When putting the 3 AAA batteries in (two on the bottom, one on the side) and removing them I had been using a 12 volt power screw driver. It’s usually easier for me and it hadn’t been a problem. The last time I went to put the batteries in to film the animations again, I couldn’t remove the side screw. The one that powers the goggles. I was sure I stripped the screw and probably did. I don’t have the right tool or bit to deal with it. Friends and I’ve tried without the bits/tools, even tried the rubber band trick that kept coming up on-line. I know its my fault, I’ve felt if Mattel didn’t put that one side screw inside that one “part” for the look, small power tool or not it’d be free. Instead of me some day possibly spending money on bits and tools I normally don’t need. Lesson has been learned which is why I’ve been careful and haven’t even had that 12 volt power screw driver anywhere near my Neutrino Wand.

As I’ve been putting together my Ghostbusters uniform during Septmeber 2013 and will wear the Ecto Goggles I decided to apply the decals. Using screen shots provided by ghostheads, I applied a minor amount of decals where it looked screen accurate as it could. When they’re applied, you can see how small they are compared to prop replicas. Maybe Matty Collector/Epic Creations would have liked ghostheads to use just about all of them. It would have been too much.

mattyectogoggleswithdecals

For example the lenses technical and danger decals could have been as long as they’re wide. Although I don’t show off all sides of my Ecto Goggles with the decals applied, you might notice slight peeling. I definitely handled them enough, I don’t know if the plastic was oily. They haven’t been displayed and usually stayed in their box, inside my house. It was unusually hot for October 2013, humidity could have been an issue. I may eventually use a professional set of decals and apply them to make these Ecto Goggles look more accurate for how they were built.

Whatever the reason Mattel completely ignored (at least in the final production) any chance of keeping these resting against your forehead, with or without batteries. Their is a way to correct it, it’s so simple Matty/Epic could have just supplied the material and let the buyer decide. Two words: Weather Stripping

Or is that one word? I’m not in that business.

Perhaps others figured this out immediately, one ghosthead and at least another posted about this on Ghostbusters Fans. I don’t know the brand or if their is a particular thickness. Go to the blue, orange, or red hardware retailer and buy a bag (I think it comes in  bag) of weather stripping.

ectostripping

Its light, its soft, I think it has a sticky side. Cut to length and apply. It won’t look pretty and from the back it looks like you might be building 1980s artificial intelligence. For some scientific law of Newton you can wear Matty/Epic Ecto Goggles against your forehead. You don’t even have to cut the straps unless you want a tighter and more screen accurate look.

Special thanks to friend, ghosthead, and colleague of Ghostbusters NJ Bill Malkin for providing the material and making the modifications as we were working on my pack.

Matty Collector Neutrino Wand Video

neutrinowandstreams

After mostly leaving 2013 behind, I was able to make time to film a three and a half minute video of demonstrating how a Matty Collector/Neutrino Wand operates. While I know how to work a particle thrower, how to transfer the video, the time it would take to upload, and an attempt to edit was somewhat loss on me until early this evening.

Using my fruit phone and because of the length of the Neutrino Wand, I felt I had to film it in portrait mode. If you view the video embedded on your FaceBook newsfeed as well , it’s not too bad. Hopefully future videos will bring improvements.

In a future update North Jersey Ghostbuster, Ronald may have a cross the streams video for us to share with everyone. In the meantime, enjoy my instructional type video.
