Lego Ghostbusters FireHouse January Catalog

Just in time for New Years 2016 LEGO sent customers a January 2016 catalog. As expected their Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, November 11, 2015) was prominently featured. It reminded me of The Real Ghostbusters Magazines posters.

Until or if ghostheads get any more Ghostbusters Legos I scanned the cover and four additional pages for preservation. I made a PDF file from those scans.

Lego’s Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ (75827) can be bought either from LEGO Shop (US) or Lego retail stores.

Web Monkeys Review Ecto-Containment Stats For 2015

While I was busy with work, WordPress web monkeys were reviewing Ecto-Containment’s numbers for 2015. Thanks to all ghostheads who visited during 2015 when a once The Real Ghostbusters site expanded and grew into a more rounded Ghostbusters site.

We’ll be doing this for the 12 month foreseeable future as I renewed this fine domain at the end of December 2015!

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 19,000 times in 2015. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 7 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Amazon Japan Ghostbusters Merchandise

After writing about more current Japanese Ghostbusters merchandise (Ecto-Containment Blog Post. December 12, 2015) memoriesofoldboy and I had an 8 comment conversation about Japanese Ghostbusters merchandise.

As you may have read I didn’t originally think to check Amazon Japan for Ghostbusters merchandise. I also would do the same with Rakuten. The idea was to look at Ghostbusters merchandise that I’m pretty sure isn’t or never was available in either the US or Canada. Most likely Mexico as well. That could be a different conversation entirely.

I found 8 categories (its possible an item either has a different style or design) on Amazon Japan and another ten on Rakuten. We’ll explore Rakuten’s selection in a separate blog post.

Ghostbusters Selects Series 2 Pre-Ordering

I saw in my email last week that pre-orders for Diamond Select Toys Ghostbusters Series/Wave 2 went live. Depending on the site and individual figures, some are already sold out. If pre-orders for Series/Wave 2 are anything like Series/Wave 1 pretty good chance those individual figures will be available to pre-order again before May 2016.

If you were going to buy a series a a set anyway, pretty good chance they’re available to pre-order. You’ll save some money (before shipping and any applicable taxes) over buying them individually.

Japanese Magazine Quanto Ghostbusters Advertising

A Japanese toy and hobby magazine called Quanto, (no exact English translation that I’m aware of, if it isn’t Spanish) had a 2011 issue where they had photos of Ghostbusters merchandise from Diamond Select Toys, Factory Entertainment, Hot Wheels, Matty Collector, Rubies, and whomever has a license for Ghostbusters t-shirts in Japan.

Matthew Jordan who oversees Ghostbusters Wiki shared the scans he had. It’s possible I had seen the scans before this week as I had a slight dejá vu feeling about it. With my interests in Japanese culture and international Ghostbusters merchandise I wanted to know more.

Ghosthead and member of NYC Ghostbusters Christopher Beaumont added a cover image from an eBay auction and provided additional information.

In the meantime Matthew shared an article with two videos about the photo shoot for this issue of Quanto.

Cryptozoic Entertainment Ghostbusters Trading Cards

Earlier this year Cryptozoic Entertainment who recently released Ghostbusters: The Board Game (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, October 29, 2015) had basically announced Ghostbusters trading cards were on their way (Ghostbusters Inc. Blog Post, February 13, 2015) this year.
