Funko Vinyl Idolz Dr. Ray Stantz Added To Ecto-Containment Store

After writing about Weta Workshop’s upcoming Ghostbusters vinyl figures, (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, July 18, 2019) it was finally the right time to list all 3 of Funko/Vinyl Idolz Ghostbusters figures. Before I made time to add them to the Ecto-Containment Store I first added them to Ecto-Containment’s Facebook Page. That’s how I sold both a Dr. Peter Venkman and Dr. Egon Spengler Vinyl Idolz.

Dr. Raymond Stantz Vinyl Idolz stands alone and should be part of a ghosthead’s collection. I’m selling this Vinyl Idolz for $10 USD before shipping.

As of today I’ve added Dr. Raymond Stantz Vinyl Idolz to the Store.

Ghostbusters Vinyl Figures Coming From Weta Workshop

I have to be honest, the standard that has been around with Vinyl figures peaked for me sometime ago. To the point I had thought their was really only one way to make them. Then Vinyl Sugar, a Funko brand came along with Ghostbusters Vinyl Idolz (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, October 24, 2015) and I probably said something like this is different.

I couldn’t have imagined in 4 years how much the vinyl figure landscape would change. Enter Weta Workshop. A company who does creative development, publishing, weapons, props, creatures, make-up, miniatures, public art, and merchandise for films” for at least the past 2 decades.

They already have figures from Aliens, Lord Of The Rings, and Men In Black to name a few. Coming in 2020 Weta Workshop is set to bring ghostheads three Ghostbusters figures. After the break, full sized photos!

Rich Review: Ghostbusters Vinyl Sugar Idolz

gbvinylidolzbox

Around this years San Diego Comic Con when Funko/Vinyl Sugar‘s Ghostbusters Vinyl Idolz were out there in the wild I was checking the usual on-line retail sites so I could buy them. Still to my knowledge no ghosthead who isn’t an employee of Funko knows why their isn’t a Vinyl Idolz Winston. I sorta preferred the SDCC exclusive versions. (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, July 11, 2015) A reasonable price alluded me within the US. Last year I bought something similar with Funko’s SDCC Marshmallow Covered Movie Pops!. (iRich Blog Post, December 28, 2014)

With some of the exclusivity out of reach I ended up buying Vinyl Idolz Peter Venkman first from Barnes & Noble‘s website. Vinyl Idolz Ray Stantz and Vinyl Idolz Egon Spengler came from an eBay seller in NJ. I was able to save some more that way. Continue reading

Ghostbusters Dorbz Chase Variants

If you’ve ever read or collected a toy line you know its a foregone conclusion that the company behind that line is going to make a variant of said figures. Matty what’s their name were practically known for doing this with Ghostbusters. In a different way, Funko and their brands have done something similar (though to their credit better) with both their Pops! and Vinyl Idolz.

I wasn’t surprised when I unexpectedly found out Vinyl Sugar will be releasing at least two (that they’ve shared) variant (or chase, (ya know thrill of the hunt) Ghostbusters Dorbz. Continue reading

Vinyl Idolz SDCC 2015 Exclusives

vinylsugarlogo

Vinyl Sugar, a Funko company (sure that works) revealed during June three upcoming San Diego Comic Con Ghostbusters Vinyl Idolz exclusives. A touch of paint + a limited number made + SDCC sticker divided by the square root of being a SDCC exclusive = second and third party mark ups on-line.

As a quick aside I would have written about them sooner if it hadn’t been for personal obligations wondering if we would need multiple mortgages.

Let’s take a look at these exclusive variants. Continue reading
