Ghostbusters Funko Pop Movies 3 Pack

popmoviesgbs3packboxtop2

Back in May Funko showed off upcoming Funko products. (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, May 20, 2016) Maybe to the surprise of ghostheads, their was to be a new Ghostbusters Pop! Movies collectible! Not just one figure either. Fans wouldn’t have to buy them separately. However, ghostheads would have to buy them from Walmart as this 3 pack would be there exclusive.

My nearest location barely carries Pops! and other nerd collectibles. Seeing how they didn’t seem to carry summer 2016 Ghostbusters toys, I knew I wouldn’t see this 2.5 miles from my house. I went to order from the blue stores site. On the first try they were sold out. One day weeks later when I was being responsible keeping ECU running my friend let me know these were in stock. I was able to avoid the inconvenience of trying to go to another location and buy from secondary/third markets too.

Same friend (who is a Funko Pops! collector) and I placed an order. After I received mine via mail (to further avoid the blue store) and the day he was expecting his, a Walmart he was at (in New Jersey) had 10 of them. :O

Ghostbusters Limited Edition Loot Crate

legbslootcratebox

In May the box subscription service  Loot Crate announced a new Limited Edition Crate. One that would celebrate the Ghostbusters film franchise for both the 20 and 21 centuries. With Ghostbusters (2016) on the horizon from Columbia Pictures, a Sony Pictures Entertainment company, new and “classic” merchandise could mean an all Ghostbusters crate was indeed possible.

Last month around Ghostbusters 32 anniversary ghostheads were able to place their orders. Personally I don’t subscribe to any subscription box services. For a limited edition all Ghostbusters collectibles, I wouldn’t normally need to give buying  a second thought. I did as with Ghostbusters (2016) being the shiny new Ghostbusters movie I knew their could be more Ghostbusters (2016) collectibles then GHOSTBUSTERS ones.

I decided if their was one or more items I didn’t want I could sell hopefully for a small profit. I took a plunge into a river of Ghostbusters collectible. Which shipped in early July and arrived from California a little earlier this week.

Before I talk about the items and show 22 additional photos I will provide the following:

Handy Disclaimer

If you ordered this Limited Edition Loot Crate and either haven’t received your order yet and would like the element of surprise to have your own enjoyment, you may want to read my reviews of other Ghostbusters collectibles. They can be found under iRich.

Possible spoilers ahead.

Hi-C Ecto Cooler Tasting

hicectocoolercancoldwarm.jpg
Magical ink allows cold Ecto Cool to appear as its been slimed!

Earlier in the week I received my order of Ecto Cooler cans (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, June 13, 2016) from Amazon. I thought the following day I’d have my first taste of real (in packaging/branding) Ecto Cooler in at least 25 years. Compared to when I was 8, a few decades later I felt I should wait at least one more day. Both Wednesday and Thursday prior to lunch I was out. When I came back my beverage priority was Coca~Cola.

Today I washed a Coke glass from the era and opened a can of Hi-C Ecto Cooler! :O

Hi-C Ecto Cooler Primed

hicectocoolercase2.jpg

Towards the end of April, Hi-C launched their on-line marketing campaign (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, April 25, 2016) for Ecto Cooler return. With a tentative release date on May 30, 2016. Tentative as chain grocery retailers still might not have received the infamous juice box. While many of us, including myself have yet to see the “drink of childhood” in stores, cans are a different story.

Ecto Cooler in its 11.5 ounce can is available at Cinemark, as they seem to be the official move theater for Ghostbusters (2016). If a Cinemark location requires an overnight for you, ghostheads can order from Amazon, (if you’re a prime member) northeast US chain Shop Rite, H-E-B, and coming soon Walmart.

New Ghostbusters Pop Tees

funkogbt2

Funko recently announced wave 2 of their Pop! Tees. Among the likes of some jokerish space civil war t-shirts is the above Ghostbusters Pop! t-shirt. We know Pop! Movies Winston Zeddemore (iRich Blog Post, December 28, 2014) is smaller in scale, that isn’t a reason to exclude him.

You may remember Funko originally released (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, July 11, 2015) a Ghostbusters Pop! Tee as a SDCC 2015 exclusive. Which was later sold at retailers and on-line.

Each of Funko’s Pop! Tees come with a Pop! Mini Standee collector card. They’ll be available during Summer 2016.

Ghostbusters Letterhead With Envelope

agbsnoghostlogowall321

It isn’t that often I see a Ghostbusters paper prop I don’t think I’ve come across. That wasn’t the case when Replica Prop Forum member Brigandia36 posted Ghostbusters stationary/letterhead with an envelope. These paper props came from iCollector, an auction site. The original auction didn’t sell, which is partially why I’m sharing the images.

The lot also includes a sheet of stationery and an envelope that both bear the Ghost Busters company letterhead, complete with address and phone number for reporting supernatural disturbances.

Its possible these were made for Ghostbusters, possibly set dressing during production. Either really weren’t seen or not used as a prop at all.

A comment at RPF said they weren’t real if they didn’t have slime on them. So now they have slime. Then I made a variant as I could see “Dr. Venkman” placing his coffee atop of one of the older letterheads.

Ghostbusters Daruma Club Stay Puft Figure

marshmallowmandaruma

When there’s something immediately happening in Japan with Ghostbusters, all I need to do is see a tweet/or re-tweet from Ghostbusters Japan. (Twitter) This is where I recently learned a new Ghostbusters collectible is coming out and it seems so Japanese. I say that with the highest of compliments.

As on-line software translation isn’t perfect I didn’t quite get the idea of these Daruma toys. I chalked it up as another type of vinyl figure without knowing anything about Daruma.

If like me you’re not very familiar with Daruma, let’s consult Google.

The Daruma doll (達磨 daruma ?), also known as a Dharma doll, is a hollow, round, Japanese traditional doll modeled after Bodhidharma, the founder of the Zen sect of Buddhism.

When I originally saw not only a Mr. Stay-Puft Daruma doll I didn’t think of that. Considering my western up bringing and Christian faith it makes sense Buddhism didn’t occur to me. However sumo wrestling did. Something else I don’t really understand, also respect.Read More »
