Extreme Episode Review: Darkness At Noon Part 2

Yesterday I watched and reviewed the second episode of Extreme Ghostbusters, the conclusion to Darkness At Noon Part I. It wasn’t planned to coincide with Ghostbusters 31st anniversary in the United States. The review of Darkness At Noon Pt. 2 is both a review and a “thoughts and observation” format. It made sense to write it that way. However, it takes a lot of time to write episode reviews in this way. I’d never recommend it. If I ever get to Back In The Saddle Part 1/Part 2, I’ll probably write it in the same way. I can be thorough like that. 8)Read More »

Extreme Episode Review: Darkness At Noon Part 1

While I was working on the Trendmasters Extreme Ghostbusters ECTO-1 review I watched Darkness At Noon Pt. 1 for reference. As I was watching I started to review it mentally. Yesterday I decided to re-watch and actually review the pilot episode. It didn’t take long to remember why I don’t consistently write reviews. It was kinda fun watching Extreme Ghostbusters from a different perspective.

The review of Darkness At Noon Pt. 1 has a similar format to how I’ve written The Real Ghostbusters episode reviews. In deciding to review Extreme Ghostbusters, I created an Extreme Ghostbusters section. Which can be accessed through the navigation menu. Along with a Season 1 section.

I don’t have a set date for when I’ll review Darkness At Noon Pt. 2. I can see it as site content. We need a conclusion right? 8)

Episode Review: Citizen Ghost

spectraldoubleends

In recent years I’ve talked about and described Season 1, Episode 11, Citizen Ghost. Which is The Real Ghostbusters sequel to Ghostbusters. This is a favorite episode (even with Slimer 😉 ) that gives additional history of The (Real) Ghostbusters and how Slimer came to live with with guys who bust ghosts for a living, and received the name Slimer.

After reviewing the filming of Ghostbusters with Take Two this past week and to honor Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary at Ecto-Containment I really wanted to review Citizen Ghost. I spent a lot of time writing today, put my passion as a ghosthead into my review, and had fun, arguably more fun then writing about Take Two.

Enjoy Citizen Ghost for your Ghostbusters 30th ( and The Real Ghostbusters 30th during 2016) anniversary!

Episode Review: Take Two

Heading into Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary I wanted to pay tribute to the beloved film in a The Real Ghostbusters way. Two first season episodes related to the film immediately came to mind. Episode 10, Take Two and Episode 11, Citizen Ghost. I debated for about 11 seconds which I should review. It seemed a little more fitting to watch and write about Take Two, written by J. Michael Straczynski.

It wasn’t quite meant to be this way, the review format is a mix between the way I originally reviewed episodes and the way I scaled them back in recent years. Either way for the amount of times I watched Take Two, I could have watched Ghostbusters more then once.

If my schedule allows, I’d really like to review Citizen Ghost before Ghostbusters actual 30th Anniversary. Either way its the next episode I’ll be reviewing.

Episode Review: Xmas Marks The Spot

christmasghosts

I had previously written about season 1’s Xmas Marks The Spot going back 4 or 5 years. I no longer have that file and it probably wouldn’t match my review format. I watched the episode twice today and spent about a half a day getting the review along with screen caps together for Ectocontainment. The new review mostly follows the format of Mrs. Roger’s Neighborbood, which was the last episode I wrote about.

In honor of Christmas I give you a present, Ectocontainment’s review of Xmas Marks The Spot, a personal favorite of ghostheads and a tribute to Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol.

However you celebrate, Merry Christmas!

Episode Review: Mrs Roger’s Neighborhood

humanwhat

After at least a two year absence I’ve begun reviewing The Real Ghostbusters episodes again. Unlike 2008 or 2009 I will not be writing about the episodes plots almost word for word like I’m writing a report. Each episode review will have a synopsis and any of the following:

  • Thoughts and comments.
  • Technical references.
  • Facts and/or trivia.
  • Product “placement.”
  • Mistakes/goofs from an episode.

Today’s case file continues from September 1986, titled Mrs. Roger’s Neighborhood. After The Real Ghostbusters had unplugged Killerwatt the week before business has slowed down considerably. That is until a “little old lady” named Mrs. Rogers calls about her haunted house. Mrs. Rogers and her house are more then they appear.
