ILM 1989 Ghostbusters II Yearbook

Tim Lawrence, (IMDB) was the Creature Shop Supervisor (must have looked good on the business card) during Ghostbusters II and played Nunzio Scoleri, a ghost who was given the chair by “The Hammer,” a judge who didn’t believe in ghosts.

Earlier this month Tim Lawrence came across a ILM yearbook from 1989. He scanned the cover and the Ghostbusters II pages, telling ghostheads about the photos. Links and information was shared at Ghostbusters Fans.

I decided to make a PDF of the cover and four pages using the original sizes. If you wouldn’t want a 60 MB PDF file you can check Tim Lawrence’s thread for various image sizes.

With the addition of Ghostbusters to Ecto-Containment, really the only piece of the Ghostbusters puzzle (you didn’t tell us their were going to more games) was to write my memories of Ghostbusters II. Which would be different from Ghostbusters. Because of age, The Real Ghostbusters, merchandise, and related experiences around Ghostbusters II premiere.

Designers Show Off Lego Ghostbusters Firehouse

Lego Designers Marcos Bessa and Paul (who materialized because LEGO secretly invented a transporter) made a Lego Designer video which talks about and shows off the Lego Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ. (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, November 11, 2015)

Just in time for New Years 2016 LEGO sent customers a January 2016 catalog. As expected their Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, November 11, 2015) was prominently featured. It reminded me of The Real Ghostbusters Magazines posters.

Until or if ghostheads get any more Ghostbusters Legos I scanned the cover and four additional pages for preservation. I made a PDF file from those scans.

Lego’s Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ (75827) can be bought either from LEGO Shop (US) or Lego retail stores.

Ghostbusters: The Ultimate Visual History Received

I had been keeping this under (shrink) wraps in part until I knew I could talk more about Ghostbusters: The Ultimate Visual History. (Ghostbusters Inc. Blog Post, January 5, 2015)

During the summer I was contacted by PR By The Book, a public relations firm who represents Insight Editions. The discussion via email was about having a review copy and promoting the book. Which I’ve been doing at least since January. Unless I misunderstood I thought an abbreviated copy would be arriving. One day in August I’m heading out and there was a package.

SDCC: Ghostbusters The Ultimate Visual History

As 2015 was beginning the powers that be (um sure) announced that Ghostbusters The Ultimate Visual History (GB Inc. Blog Post, January 5, 2015) was being put together and will be available this September.

Ghostbusters II Liberty Crown Featured on A&E’s Shipping Wars

This week’s episode (titled Holy Horrible Voice, Batman!) of Shipping Wars featured Val Kilmer’s Batman cape….

Boring. lol With shipping that cape from the seller (who runs a movie prop rental business) was a rather large Ghostbusters II Statue of Liberty head/crown piece supposedly used in the making of Ghostbusters II. As is typical no “proof” was ever shown (that was a different show) about its authenticity. The crown even had a little ‘figure’ of Egon inside.

Todd and Tamara were ‘lucky’ enough to transport both pieces to the new owner. However, (if this wasn’t just for TV) the shoddy crate someone else built didn’t support the piece and along the way, Ms. Liberty fell over! On its face, breaking 4 “spikes” from the crown.

Throughout the episode their were Ghostbusters/II references. Another shipper, the oldest guy Mark did seem to get Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II mixed up. Which I suppose is “fine” since he kinda bashed Ghostbusters II anyway. :/

In the end the new owner and the shippers worked out a deduction so the family could have the crown fixed.

I guess he wasn’t ‘too’ mad as he let Tamara wear the cape worth $10,000 USD. After the jump, plenty of screen caps.Read More »
