Extreme Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Added to Ecto-Containment Store

I’ve added a new item (link removed as EGBs Ecto-1 has been sold) to the Ecto-Containment Store. Around 2012 I bought an Extreme Ghostbusters Ecto-1 sealed in box, until 2015.

Now, during Ghostbusters 35th Anniversary, it was for sale.

Ecto-Containment Store Is Live

In the first attempt (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, February 13, 2018) at having an on-line store, things didn’t go as well as I would have liked. That came down to not having a real/direct way through Ecto-Containment to process payments.

This year because of recent updates I’m able to sell on site and with PayPal. Today I updated the Store with 6 Kenner The Real Ghostbusters toys.

Separately I’m selling in the Store my Kenner Firehouse Headquarters/Fire Station.

On the updated Matty Collector Figures page in the Store I’ve added thirteen 6″ figures based on Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II, and Ghostbusters: The Video Game.

Ecto-Containment Store/Selling Update

Throughout the month I’ve had a few posts for my Kenner The Real Ghostbusters collectibles I’ve been selling this year. I was recently hired at a new company, Selling just about all my Ghostbusters collectibles like it was a full time job isn’t as necessary.

I’ve removed a few for sale posts on Ecto-Containment and Facebook with the exception of The Real Ghostbusters Fire House (Ecto-Containment Page) which I didn’t create a for sale post on Ecto-Containment.

If items are listed in the Ecto-Containment Store they will continue to be available until they aren’t. I’ll still be adding items (either to the store or social media) as I can, which may be easier on my schedule.

For example today I re-added my Underground Toys “Angry Face” Singing Stay-Puft (EC Facebook Post) at a new lower price of $15.00 USD.

With less “for sale” posts I’d like to see more content posts, as schedules allow.

For Sale: Rich’s Ghostbusters II Proton Pack Replica

In June 2000 I bought a Proton Pack replica. Styled somewhat after their look from Ghostbusters II. Eighteen years later I wrote The History Of A Rich Proton Pack Replica. (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, February 13, 2018) Today, (bummer) 18 years later my Proton Pack replica is for sale.

If you have the “tools and the talent” this Proton Pack replica could even be better than it originally was in June 2000. Sometime after 2006 it stopped working. I thought it could have been from a fuse. For all I know a wire came loose. In an attempt to prepare the pack for an eventual restoration, as much wiring was removed as possible. “That was really stupid.” – Winston

When this pack replica was originally wired toggle switches (with all batteries in place inside) did the following:

Proton Pack Functions

  1. Pack and wand lights would turn on.
  2. The blue Power Cell would “power” up.
  3. Cyclotron/Synchronous Generator would “cycle.”

Neutrona Wand

  1. Heat Sink didn’t light for “total protonic reversal” conversation.
  2. Emitter would light, (barrel didn’t extend) and would vibrate when “firing.”

Site Update: Ecto-Containment Store Open

Since the end of January, I’ve been working on a new section for Ecto-Containment, a basic on-line Store. The purpose of having a store at Ecto-Containment is to sell mostly Ghostbusters items from my personal collection. Their could be non Ghostbusters items added.

Why is Ecto-Containments store basic? I’m not using commerce software and don’t have a PayPal business account. That’s why their aren’t add-to-cart buttons and directly checking out through Ecto-Containment.

Better Quarters Way Off Campus

It’s been less than two months since I moved. If you followed a little of the progress through Ecto-Containment’s Facebook page you know that I moved out of Jersey, had to wait for movers to deliver things, hook up internet, and I’ve been watching 1990s professional wrestling.

That didn’t mean I wasn’t reading, listening, and sometimes watching “news from the world ‘o Gozer.” I’ve been wanting to get back to Ecto-Containment so I can write about Ghostbusters and add new content.

If you’ve been here since before July it’s noticeable I updated Ecto-Containment with a new and updated layout. Including updated Ecto-Containment logo and new (in a long time) site browser icon.

Personal Update June 2017

Going back to about March I finally had the paperwork to settle my parent’s estate. I wasn’t 100% ready to try until end of Spring.

I would have liked to have had more time for Ghostbusters blog posts and site content around Ghostbusters 33rd anniversary and Ghostbusters II 28th anniversary. I kept up when possible through the sites social media accounts.

The week going into Father’s Day I called my real estate agent and once the listing went live there were showings Friday, Saturday, and Monday. Offers were made almost immediately. A week ago I agreed and the process continues.

I’ve been getting ready to move when the time comes. I probably won’t write news posts or create site content until after I move. I’ll be around both Ecto-Containment and Ghostbusters International social media when possible.

In part because of my upcoming move I am looking to sell quite a bit of my collection from Ghostbusters and not surprisingly other ’80s properties. I’ll be writing about that separately.

Personal Update December 2016

I’ve been meaning to write this post before today. I held off because its difficult and very personal. In other posts where I say its personal, it can be vague. I don’t generally like to publicize my personal life. I’ve whenever I could kept my personal life separate from Ghostbusters. Through the years they’ve sometimes been connected. I feel as a courtesy, for the support you’ve shown the sites over the years, and a need to write I would provide a personal update.

Ecto-Containment July Site Update

July Updates

If you’ve stopped by Ecto-Containment in the last week, you probably noticed the black piano theme I’ve been using has been replaced. I’ve been wanting to change the layout again for sometime. I’ve been testing different designs. Depending on when you read this, the design in all likely hood has changed again. For personal, creative, and maybe technologic reasons.

While I’ve been doing that I’ve also been preparing a new content update. I haven’t written a single word of it yet. I have taken, organized, and prepared 23 photos. Which haven’t appeared on Ecto-Containment previously. Anticipation is building! :p

I also have a couple of other timely updates planned. One involves a new Ghostbusters collectible to my collection. The other, a new The Real Ghostbusters review.

From The World Of Ecto-Containment

If you live either in New Jersey or close enough to travel, members of Ghostbusters NJ and myself will be at the Jersey Shore Comic Book Show this Sunday, July 17, 2016. This smaller show runs from 10AM-4 PM. JSCBS is in a regional shore area. One could even visit one of the area boardwalks afterwards. With games, oversized food, and beaches along the Atlantic ocean.

GBNJ will have our mobile HQ (i.e.: 3 tables) with enough equipment, ectoplasm, activities, usually Ghostbusters S.W.A.G to give away, (“the kids love us”) with more to display and share. We also usually have multiple ECTOs right outside.

Web Monkeys Review Ecto-Containment Stats For 2015

While I was busy with work, WordPress web monkeys were reviewing Ecto-Containment’s numbers for 2015. Thanks to all ghostheads who visited during 2015 when a once The Real Ghostbusters site expanded and grew into a more rounded Ghostbusters site.

We’ll be doing this for the 12 month foreseeable future as I renewed this fine domain at the end of December 2015!

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 19,000 times in 2015. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 7 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

New Ecto-Containment Layout

A short post (let’s put it this way, not as long as others) to confirm what you’re already seeing. That not even 5 full months later I’ve once again clicked some buttons and changed Ecto-Containment’s design and layout. As you scroll down you’ll see a curved shape. Its suppose to resemble some fancy piano. To me, its more of an upside down P.K.E Meter. 😀

Unlike back in May (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, May 11, 2015) their shouldn’t be any major changes. Except for maybe one, their is an RSS feed icon the template has by default. I don’t have separate RSS software, it doesn’t work for me. If you have an RSS app, it should work. Feel free to comment to confirm.

Otherwise it’ll be somewhat business as unusual as Ecto-Containment moves into October. This would include Ghostbusters news and site content.
