More Ecto Toys
I had a couple appointments this past week, one which took me out of town. In between and afterwards I’ve been working on the next two pages from the Kenner “chapter” of the Toys section. I spent the better part of the afternoon and evening on it today.
With the number of ecto vehicles Kenner produced I’m creating multiple pages to organize the toys and write ups.
Earlier in the week I wrote about Ecto-1, Ecto 2, and Ecto 3 on the Ecto Toys page. Today we take a look at ECTO-500, Ghost Sweeper which Kenner probably should have called an Ecto Sweeper, and ECTO-1A.
The third page will focus on the Ecto Bomber™. In the fourth and final page about the ecto vehicles that were made we’ll look at Kenner’s haunted rides.
Kenner: Ecto Toys
The next page from the Kenner “chapter” of the Toys section continues with The Real Ghostbusters Ecto Toys. Because of the number of Kenner vehicles with Ecto in the title, one page would be pretty lengthy. On the Ecto Toys page I take a look at ECTO-1, followed with a new ECTO-2, page and an ECTO-3 page.
The next toy update will include ECTO-500, Ghost Sweeper, and ECTO-1A.
Kenner: Fire House
The next page from the Kenner “chapter” of the Toys section continues with The Real Ghostbusters Fire House. This was the only building play set that went into production during The Real Ghostbusters.™
About 5 years later their was a strong attempt to make an Egon’s Lab™ play set. It didn’t go into production. I will feature Egon’s Lab and other unreleased Kenner toys in a future update.
Before Egon could have a lab, there had to be a Fire House first. 8)
Kenner: First Series Hero Figures
Yesterday while working on the next section of Ectocontainment’s toy area (after it was first published) I noticed technical glitches. Due more to human error then limitations from the software. The simple solution that would normally work didn’t. I spent the better part of the day rebuilding the layout and organizing the content for the better.
With all the hard work and time that went into the site yesterday I barely mentioned the new update. That’s what the rest of this entry is for.
Before kids in the ‘80s had the way to stage a 1:1 supernatural battle Kenner produced the first The Real Ghostbusters figures. In the first series we take a look at the hero figures.
The next toy update should be about the fire station.
The Real Ghostbusters Toys
Inspired by Ghostbusters™ toys archives and collectors sites I wanted to build a continuous growing section for Ectocontainment where I could talk about the history of Ghostbusters™ toys, show them off from my (growing) collection, and talk about them how children of the ‘80s and Ghostbusters fans remember them.
I began the project initially this past May. I didn’t really begin to make the time for it before last weekend. I started by taking a lot of photos of my The Real Ghostbusters, Diamond Select/Art Asylum and Mattel (Matty) toys.
“Chapter 1” is about/for Kenner. Where I talk about and show off some of their earliest toys kinda based off the movie.
Because it was early on and their were only 2 of them I cover the plush toys.
The next update will be about the first Hero action figures. I’ll post more about that in the next entry.
