This years Las Vegas Licensing Expo is the week of May 23-25. In preparation of movie studios such as Sony Pictures attending, an image surfaced featuring the above new Ghostbusters “no ghost” logo. Which as ghostheads have pointed out gives off a 1980s Kenner vibe. Does that mean Sony and Ghost Corps (Facebook) has some retro toys up their flightsuit sleeves? Subliminally could this be about the upcoming Ghostbusters animated movie and/or animated series?
Believe it or not two years from now the time will be upon us all when the Ghostbusters franchise celebrates 35 years of being “ready to believe you.” 2019 is also significant as Ghostbusters II turns 30.
It was easy for ghostheads to assume this “no ghost” logo will be the new 35th anniversary Ghostbusters logo. Ghost Corps clarified with the following statement:
Just to clarify, this is not the official 35th logo, it was a logo created out of our new style guide for use at the Licensing Expo to get licensees excited for the event. More plans for the 35th, including an official logo will be announced in the future.
We’ll have to wait a little longer. Hopefully next month by or on Ghostbusters 33rd anniversary, their will be Ghostbusters licensing news from this months Expo.
