Ghostbusters Cereal Coupons

On December 14, 2020 Robert Maxwell Barbieri aka Bobby Eighties (Facebook) posted “vintage Ghostbusters scrapbook material.” Once I saw Bobby’s photos I had to ask about sharing his Ghostbusters Cereal (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, October 8, 2014) coupons. After taking close up photos, editing, a new month, year, and a few cosmetic changes (so far) to Ecto-Containment, I’m happy to co-present 37 year old Ghostbusters cereal coupons in color!

Earlier in the twenty teens I had only seen black and white versions. They originally came from newspapers during the 1980s. Most likely shared by Matthew Jordan of Ghostbusters Wiki. I’ve been wanting to see and share these coupons as I believe I remembered from childhood.

Bobby’s coupons go beyond cereal. Premiums, (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, October 20, 2014) Sweepstakes, (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, October 25, 2014) Stay-Puft apparel, and Toys ‘R Us.

Ads and coupons are mostly in chronological order from dates listed.

Early proof Kraft should have licensed the Stay-Puft brand.

Official International Ghostbusters Club Photos Updated

officialgbsfanclubtoolsofthetrade5

On August 6, 2019, posted at Ecto-Containment on August 7, Ghostbusters International was able to recreate (Ecto-Containment Blog Post) part of the original Official International Ghostbusters Club, thanks to Robert Maxwell Barbieri. (Facebook)

I figured that would be it unless TECHPAC or “No Ghosts, the quarterly newsletter surfaced. On Halloween and into early November (“that’s my fault”) Robert reached out with a couple of new pieces around the Official Ghostbusters Fan Club.

An article about the club, written by Rick Lyman, Inquirer Movie Critic and a letter (more like a note) from the Ghostbusters Fan Club so Mark Lister and Jim Garvey could send “qualifying applicants” club items once they or their parents paid $8.95 USD.

Over at GBI I’ve added these 2 new photos to the Official International Ghostbusters Club page.

If you have one or more of the quarterly newsletter “No-Ghosts” or something else from the original fan club, please contact me at: spengs @ ecto-containment . com.

Official International Ghostbusters Club Photos

Remember that time over at GBI when they wrote about the official Ghostbusters Fan Club? (GBI Blog Post, June 8, 2014) Five years later they, (well I did) wrote about the official international Ghostbusters fan club again. For a very good reason. It started this summer when the king of the ghostheads, Peter Mosen. (Facebook) had been taking and sharing photos from his career and collecting. One or more of the shared photos came from the original Ghostbusters fan club.

As I have in at least the last 5 years I asked about “club stuff.” That’s also when I heard from Robert Maxwell Barbieri. (Facebook) If you didn’t know, Robert restored the original The Real Ghostbusters pilot. Which Sony Pictures put on ghostbusters.com before also physically adding the restored pilot to the Ghostbusters 35th anniversary 4K/Blu-Ray!

As a ghosthead collector, Robert has items from the original Ghostbusters fan club. I asked for pictures or scans. Could they be shared for ghostheads? Robert agreed and I wasn’t disappointed by what he sent over. Including some extras from his archives.

It took around a week once I had the photos. GBI is happy to recreate some semblance from the official international Ghostbusters club. (GBI Page)
