Ghostbusters: Afterlife International Trailer

Yesterday if I had timed my posts better I could have included the brand new Ghostbusters: Afterlife official international trailer. The source is Sony Pictures Releasing UK. (YouTube) I’m safely assuming this trailer will be used in other countries, except where applicable with subtitles. And included international characters for Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Or Legacy as the film is called in countries outside North America.

If you don’t want to be spoiled by new footage/extended scenes, please do not watch. I did watch, based on what I’ve seen and know about Ghostbusters: Afterlife I didn’t feel it will hurt my experience watching Ghostbusters: Afterlife in full the first time.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife NYCC Panel

Earlier in the month the Reitmans along with cast members from Ghostbusters: Afterlife were at New York Comic Con. At the big (apple) east coast con, there was a Ghostbusters: Afterlife panel.

For ghostheads and others that could be there, they were front row (or close enough) for the panel and a screening of Ghostbusters: Afterlife! In US theaters on November 19, 2021.

Sony shared this nearly 30 min Ghostbusters panel at their Ghostbusters YouTube channel. I haven’t watched it yet, not sure when I will. Hopefully the NYCC panel will be included on a future Ghostbusters: Afterlife home video release.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife Trailers

Last night (Ecto-Containment Blog Post, October 19, 2021) I poured my heart out about why I hadn’t updated Ecto-Containment much in a couple of years. I felt I needed to do so before writing blog post(s) to share Ghostbusters: Afterlife trailers.

This post is for the US trailers and official director/cast reactions. If I decide to check the internets I can share international trailers in a separate post.

My Ghostbusters Afterlife

Since the teaser trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife (Ecto-Containment Blog Post: January 2, 2020) was released on December 9, 2020 I haven’t posted much at Ecto-Containment about Ghostbusters: Afterlife or related merchandise. I’ve been meaning since 2020 (“better late then never”) to write a post before ever getting to the day where I’d be sharing the trailers about my personal life/why I haven’t updated Ecto-Containment often. No one has asked, I have written personal posts when I felt I needed to.

The day Sony released the now iconic Ghostbusters: Afterlife teaser trailer I was on vacation. Not any vacation, my first international one! I was in Jamaica (a blog post I should write) with my then girlfriend and her then family in part to celebrate her parents 50th wedding anniversary. On December 9, 2019, my still then girlfriend and I watched the teaser after I knew it had been released on my new iPhone 8. Which is about paid off. Being in a foreign country and not having my computers with me, I knew I wouldn’t be writing about Ghostbusters: Afterlife probably until January 2020.

I returned to the US and went back to work (day and night shifts) at a major grocery chain. Where within the month I celebrated the holidays and before New Years Eve proposed to my then finance.

It was January 2020, we had a wedding to plan! My work schedule continued to be what it needed to be. Before long I started hearing about a virus that began in China. Like a lot of people far away you don’t think it will be a problem where you live. I’m sure like a lot of Americans, (as I live in the US) I continued living my life as I usually would. Then March rolled around. Pretty much everyone in the world began dealing with Coronavirus.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife Trailer

On January 16, 2019 Ghostbusters Facebook account posted a teaser trailer for at the time believe or not a new Ghostbusters movie! Then known as Ghostbusters 2020, later Rust City; (during filming, because no one would know it was suppose to be Ghostbusters related!) For no particular reason I never wrote a post about it, thoughts, or feelings about a new Ghostbusters movie written by Gil Kenan and Jason Reitman. And directed by Jason Reitman. Call it partially super procrastination.

Last year and last month I knew ghostheads were days away from Sony putting out a trailer for Ghostbusters 2020. The word around the internet is that it would be titled Afterlife. During the week of December 7, 2019 I was on vacation, no where near my computers.

On December 9, 2019 Sony Pictures Entertainment put the first trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife on-line. I watched it more than once, (not as many as some of you!) on my fruit phone. I was and am excited. This post isn’t about my reaction.

I’ve been back at Ecto-Containment HQ since Saturday, December 14, 2019. I had to work that day and I’m still catching up with “internet things.” I don’t know if I will write an expected reaction blog. I could see reviewing Ghostbusters: Afterlife after July 10, 2020.

From director Jason Reitman and producer Ivan Reitman, comes the next chapter in the original Ghostbusters universe. In Ghostbusters: Afterlife, when a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind. The film is written by Jason Reitman & Gil Kenan.
