The WaterZapper either came about because kids needed a better water gun or Kenner was an innovator years before the Super Soaker® came to market.

The WaterZapper was designed to look like the original Nutrona Blaster. Once kids fill WaterZapper with water (and nothing else) kids can pump the orange barrel. Which sprays water up to 20 feet! I don’t know if a kid could spray water 20 feet. Without the solid confidence in the water footage parents couldn’t really complain to Kenner. Kids could soak “everything in sight.” Kenner didn’t want to get serious and tell kids to use their WaterZapper responsibility.
